Thomas studied Computer Science at the University of Bonn and holds a master (Dipl. Inf.) and a PhD degree in Computer Science (Dr. rer. nat.). He started his professional career in 1990 with Deutsche Bank AG in the IT-strategy division at the bank’s head office in Frankfurt. In 1993 he moved on to the Singapore Regional Head office and became member of the “electronic-banking” task-force. Back in Frankfurt he oversaw the development of a new asset & liability system. 1997 Thomas started with the global Management Consultancy Mitchell Madison Group as a senior manager in Frankfurt. He specialized in capital markets and exchange technology and was responsible for the company’s IT practice in Germany. In 1998 New York became his home office, where he was elected partner of the global securities practice in 2000. In 2001 he returned to Germany accepting the offer to become Co-CEO of the Berlin stock exchange. Thereafter in 2005 he returned to the management consultancy MMGPartners in New York. In 2009 he became Partner at METIS Management Consulting in Germany.
